Obituary of Maureen Reed

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and sister on Friday, October 9th, 2009 at the age of 55 years. Maureen will be forever loved and missed by her loving husband of 36 years Scott Reed. A daughter Erin Reed (Ryan McKay) and son Mathew, A son Brett Reed (Stephanie Witzaney) and sons Shane & Carman. Her sisters Karen (Frank) Goodwin, Lorraine (Gordon) Selkirk and Marilyn (Peter) Lamothe. Her mother in law Helen Weir. Her brothers in law Doug (Maryann) Reed, Bruce (Linda) Reed and Fred Reed. A sister in law Brenda Miller. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. She was predeceased by her father Carman Weir, her mother Viola Weir and her father in law Oscar Reed. Maureen was born and raised in Prince Albert the fourth child of a family of four. At the age of 11 she moved to Big River with her family where she attended and graduated from the Big River Schools. She continued her training at the secretarial college in Prince Albert. She worked briefly at the Big River RCMP detachment until marrying Scott and moving to Pine Point. They had a few other moves until settling back in Big River raising their two children Erin Arlene and Brett Allan. After their children were old enough Maureen returned to the working world. She worked at the Dr's Office and CIBC where she spent 25 plus years. When Maureen and Scott's grandchildren came along they were the love of their lives. They spent many hours devoting their time with them. They totally adored these three little boys. Her health started to fail five years ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and it has been an ongoing battle ever since. She is at peace now and will always be missed and remembered for her loving spirit, contagious laugh and being the rock for our families.
