Obituary of Harry Sass
It is with broken hearts that the family of Harry Sass, late of Weirdale, SK, beloved husband of Elsie Sass, announce his passing on August 27, 2022, at the age of 93 years.
Dad was born on August 3, 1929, in Weirdale, SK.
He left school at a very young age to farm with his father, who was not well.
Dad purchased his home quarter in the Weirdale area in 1955, and married Elsie Stanowich on October 28, 1956, where they raised their family.
Dad had a passion for hunting, fishing, curling and watching the Blue Jays and Rider games. He enjoyed picking berries and being in the beautiful outdoors. He helped many a neighbour in building construction and he loved playing cards and loved visiting with friends and neighbours.
Harry is lovingly survived by his wife Elsie, of 65 years, of Weirdale; his daughter Debra (Ken) Trofimuk, of Prince Albert; his son Lorne (Audrey) Sass of Prince Albert, their children Landon Sass of Prince Albert, and Brielle Sass of Prince Albert, and her children Cohen and Jensen; his daughter Cindy Murphy of Nipawin, and her children Brodie Vatamaniuck of Nipawin, Braun Vatamaniuck of Lloydminster and his children Kashlyn and Kaybree, Burgess Vatamaniuck (Krysta Baird) and their son Ryker of Prince Albert; son-in-law, Keith Bird (Kim MacLean); his sisters Marjorie Wasylyshyn of Prince Albert; and Eileen (Ross) Schell of Little Bear Lake; as well as many nieces and nephews and a plethora of other relatives, too many to mention, and the many friends he has made over his 93 years.
Harry Sass was predeceased by his daughter, Kathy Sass; his parents, Frank and Sophie Sass; his in-laws, John and Nellie Stanowich; son-in-law, Dennis Murphy; sister, Helen Stacey; brother-in-law, Tom Stacey; and brother-in-law, Walter Wasylyshyn.
Public Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, 300B 300 Marquis Road West, Prince Albert, SK. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Weirdale Hall, Weirdale, SK.
