Obituary of Alice Denise Fortier
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Alice Fortier at the age of 92 years. Alice passed away peacefully at the Debden Heritage Manor on September 12, 2022 with her family by her side.
Alice was born on September 27, 1929 in Debden. Alice married Henri-Paul in 1951 and raised six children on the farm. They retired in 1982 and moved to Debden. Alice was an avid gardener, known for her beautiful flowers, large garden and especially her large tomatoes. She loved camping and fishing. Mom loved to play cards, especially cribbage. She was on a bowling league for many years and was known to be very competitive. She was always busy with her many hobbies, sewing clothes, jean quilts, beach bags and placemats. She spent many hours knitting and crocheting, and gave away many afghan blankets, slippers, pichous and so much more. Alice was active in her church and always ready to give a helpful hand for the many cultural and community events. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family.
Alice will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children: Her son Alfred (Aline) Fortier and their children Dorian (Lindsay) Fortier and children Jorja and Jett; Dominic (Brandice) Fortier and son Griffin; Darcy (Brittany) Fortier and children Kinslee, Remi and Mila. Her Daughter Yvonne (Barry) Worman and their children Nicole (Jason) Tiller and children Aidan and Madeline; Chris Worman (Robin Jastrzebski); Joanne (Marco) Melchiorre and children Matteo, Annabella and Arianna; Eric (Mellisa) Worman and children Emma and Kate. Her daughter Celine (Adrien) Beaulac and their children Rachelle (Denny) Little and children Beau and Dyllan; Jillian (Norman) Poirier and children Alex, Noah, Kaleb and Thomas; David Beaulac. Her daughter Aurelie (Keith) Poelzer and their children Natalie Poelzer; Michael (Jenna) Poelzer and children Sawyer, William and Dawson. Her son Vincent (Lynn) Fortier and their children Gloria and Johnathon . Her daughter Diane ( Sandy) Carey and their children Danielle (Brandyn) Wasyliw and children Evelyn and Brooks; Devin Carey.
Alice was predeceased by her husband Henri-Paul, her granddaughter Sheena Fortier, her parents Thomas and Laura Blais, her six siblings and their spouses.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated October 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the St. Jean Baptiste R.C. Church in Debden, SK.
