Obituary of Jean Grela

Jean Rita Grela, beloved wife of the late Edward Grela, entered into the arms of Jesus on March 12, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Jean was the youngest and the last of 13 children born to Alex and Mary Buchynski.  She and Edward were married on November 10, 1952 and were the proud parents of six children: Theresa (Alain) Gobeil, Elizabeth (Brian) Lix, Sylvia Chrunik, Bernard Grela, Joseph (Monica) Grela, and Jim (Jacalyn) Grela.  She has in her legacy 14 grandchildren: Marcella (Albert) Roach, Kim  (Janna) Gobeil, Melanie (David) Tamney, Mandy (Jordan) Henry, Daniel (Caryn) Lix, Erin Lix (Yoan Bernatchez), Christy Chrunik, Melissa (Maurice) Larocque, Chelsea Chrunik, Brendan (Josephine) Grela, Sara Grela, Aidan, Alex and Annika Grela, and 13 great-grandchildren: Shane, Jack, Tucker, Maxwell, Kyela, Isabella, Hank, Lydia, Sierra, Kinsley, Nataliya, Austin and Harley.  Jean made her home in Paddockwood for many years and enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens.  Jean and Edward moved to Prince Albert in 1980 where she has lived ever since. Jean faced many health challenges with stubborn bravery and great dignity.  Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Michael Parish, 1505 13th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, with Father Maurice Fiolleau as Celebrant.  A Private interment will follow in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.  For those who were unable to attend, a link to the service recording is provided here https://youtu.be/ToSZRzTSnuk
