I had the great pleasure of being hired by, and work with Gib at Lafarge. Many fond memories of his kindness and great sense of humour throughout our years of working together. My sincere condolences to Darren, Doug , and family.
My condolences and sympathies to Darren, Doug and their families. It was such a pleasure working for and working with Gib at Lafarge. He hired me and was always so supportive and reassuring and cared about everyone. Kind of was the perfect “boss”! When we both retired he was only a telephone call away. I’m wishing him a Happy Birthday now as I never got to talk to him that day. May he rest in peace and may his memories live on forever. I will cherish the times we had and from this day forward those memories will always keep bringing a smile to my face. Hugs everyone
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Father, Grandfather and Friend. Gib was the first neighbour we met when we were building our Lakeview home. We were tasked with staining our deck boards so our builders could work on the deck the next morning. I was very pregnant. It was a very chilly early spring evening. Gib came over and offered us coffee and a place to warm up for a bit. He was so kind and thoughtful and we soon found out that was his nature. We will always treasure the memories of our progressive dinners with our Lakeview neighbours. Gib and Verl were a big reason of why they were so successful and so much fun.

Darren, Doug and families, I am so saddened to learn of “uncle Gib’s” passing. He was such a wonderful man. My first entertaining thought was when our families would spend time together and him insisting on cooking bacon without wearing a shirt . Thinking of you all at this very sad time.
It was my pleasure to have been a co-worker and friend of Gib’s during his career with Lafarge. Gib successfully represented Lafarge to customers throughout N. Saskatchewan. My Wife, Laurel and I offer our condolences to Darren and Doug and their families.
