Obituary of Kenneth Lee Bonik
Kenneth (Ken) Lee Bonik
April 6, 1953 - February 22, 2023
It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Ken Bonik.
After a lengthy battle with cancer, he passed away at the age of 69 with Peggy, his loving
wife of 50 years by his side.
Ken was born and raised in Shellbrook, SK, with his six siblings. At a young age, Ken started working for Cargill and at the age of 19 he got married and began to raise a family in Prince Albert, SK. They moved to Alberta for a work opportunity as a Millwright and settled in Vermilion to raise their family. In 2001, they made one final move to Sexsmith, AB, where he settled to live until retirement after 35 years with Cargill.
If Ken wasn’t with his family, he was tinkering with computers, fixing cars, making wine,
renovating his home or enjoying the outdoors (camping, fishing, hunting, golfing) right
up to his final days. Living life and every moment to its fullest.
Ken is survived by his spouse Peggy Bonik, children Cindy Bonik and Tracey Bonik, son in law Curtis Fudge, grandchildren Kelsi Smith, Ashley Smith, Ethan Fudge and Reegan Fudge, his siblings Irene Abraham, Janet (Neil) Hartman, Alfred Bonik, Sylvia (Len) Kisiloski and Carol (Dave) Markling, his uncle Henry (Marguerite) Tenz and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Stella and Gustav Bonik, grandparents Jacob and Mary Tenz, and Gotlieb and Karoline Bonik, aunts and uncles Fred Tenz, Katharina (William) Parker, Art (Wanda) Bonik, Melita (Rudolf) Gloss, and his sibling Richard Bonik and brother-in-law Robert Abraham.
