William Boland

Obituary of William Patrick Boland

William “Bill” Patrick Boland

April 23, 1964 – June 11, 2023

The family of Bill Boland sadly announce his passing at the age of 59 years.  As a young man, and a dual-citizen, Bill went off on a great adventure, moving to the United States, joining the US Military and creating a life for himself south of the border.  Around the time he turned forty, home was calling, and he returned to Saskatchewan to be with family.  Soon after, his mother, Nancy, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and Bill was able to spend quality time with her until her passing in 2008.  When he returned home, education became his new adventure.  He pursued a PhD in Political Science and in 2014 this goal was achieved with his father, Patrick, and his sister, Kelly, in attendance to cheer him on.  Following his graduation, Bill became an Associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, his alma mater.  Sadly, the adventures have come to an end.

Bill is survived by his father, Patrick; his sister Kelly (Kevin) Carlin; his nephew, Nathaniel; his aunts, Barbara Ostlund and Geraldine Kallio; and his uncle, Larry Boland.  He was predeceased by his mother, Nancy, his brother-in-law, Larry Ewanchyna; his uncles, John Boland, Gordon Boland, Robert Boland, Frank Kallio and Kenny Ostlund.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com   Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
