Obituary of Cameron Lloyd Nordin
NORDIN, Cameron Lloyd
Aug. 8, 1955 - July 10, 2023
Cam Nordin passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2023 at the age of 67 in Prince Albert, SK, with his wife Vauna and daughter Karlee by his side. Cam fought a courageous battle with various illnesses over the last 10 years and always managed to stay positive.
Cam was born on August 8th, 1955 in Prince Albert, Sask and grew up in Snowden, on the family farm with his three siblings and foster brothers. In 1979 he met his wife Vauna, while she was working in La Ronge for the summer. They knew they were meant to be together and were married in June of 1982, and in 1985 their wonderful daughter Karlee was born.
Cam was a multi-talented man who took on many careers throughout his life; he was a farmer, a heavy equipment operator, an excellent poet, a published author, and an instructor to name a few. He held various positions at SIAST throughout his 30-year career and enjoyed every moment of it, including his time teaching in Vietnam and Malawi.
Cam loved the outdoors, family get-togethers and travelling the world with his wife. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing with friends and family as well as sharing stories and telling jokes. He loved playing ball, curling, golfing, and going to the Snowden Sports Day. Cam volunteered for many associations over the years and was a member of Mensa. He was a very witty, funny, intelligent, kind, and patient man who would always be there to lend a hand. He was the best Husband, Father and Grandpa who loved spoiling his girls and will be missed terribly.
Cam is survived by his wife of 41 years Vauna (Hanbidge), his daughter Karlee Nordin and three granddaughters Kaitlyn, Izabelle, and Zoey; his siblings Bob (Betty); Kaye Becker; Dave (Tina); and Cody (Janice) Morin; his brothers-in-law Carlyle (Janis) Leia; Vance (Shelley) Hanbidge; and sister-in-law Vanis Desjarlais as well as three wonderful aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many great friends. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Evelyn Nordin, Lloyd Munns and in-laws Vance and Betty Hanbidge.

My Memory
By Cam Nordin
Since you passed on it’s not the same;
A part of me is gone.
The connection that tied my life to yours;
Now lacks a physical bond.
But as I carry on in life;
You’ll never be far from me.
Because there is a place you’ll always live;
And that is in my memory.
