Obituary of Dorothy Hiltz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Hiltz (nee Perry) on March 13, 2010 at the Lakewood Lodge with her family at her side. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Wendell (Audrey) Hiltz of Big River, SK. Her grandchildren: Kelly (Kathy) Hiltz & children James, Cordelle, Kasie, Micheal, Desiree, Jordann of Big River, SK; Kim Hodgson & her children Micheal & Caitlin of Big River, SK and Tanya Hiltz (Darryl Arcand) & children Waylon, Lauran & Mackenzie of Big River, SK. Her brother Gordon Perry of Victoria, BC as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband James "Jim" Hiltz. A son Robert "Bob" Hiltz. Her parents Alice & Hubert Perry. Her sisters Grace, Alice, Violet, Edith & Helen and her brothers Irving, John, Hubert & Clayton. The Funeral Service was held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm from St. Martin's Anglican Church in Big River, Saskatchewan with Rev. Brian Maitland officiating. The eulogy was given by Kim Hodgson. The hymns were Amazing Grace, Jesus Loves Me and In the Garden. Laura Wilson was the organist. The pallbearers were Micheal Hodgson, Cordelle Hiltz, Kelly Hiltz, Brian Rusk, Caitlin Hodgson and Rod Young. The Honorary Pallbearers were 'All relatives & friends who shared in Dorothy's life'. The Royal Canadian Legion formed an honor guard. Dorothy was born in 1917 in Prince Albert SK. In 1937 she married James Hiltz and they had two sons Robert (Bobby) and Wendell. They lived in Spruce Home, Prince Albert and Big River. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Lakewood Lodge Auxiliary. Dorothy was laid to rest in the Big River Cemetery.
