Obituary of Jean Svab
Jean Svab (nee Begin), was born on September 15, 1922, and passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. She was predeceased by her late husband, George, her parents, and numerous sisters and brothers. Jean is lovingly remembered by her children, Ed (Terese) Svab, Margaret (Ken) Doerksen, and Susan (John) Medynski; her grandchildren, Janet Svab, Danny Doersken, Ray (Laura) Svab, Donna (James) Curran, Julia Roy (Landon) and James Medynski; as well as her great and great-great grandchildren, Isaac, Elisabeth, Emmett, Alysa, Jaden and Jonathan, Alexandria, Matthew, Nikita and Joseph, Alexsandra and Clara.
Jean was an avid gardener and preserver and we all loved what Grandma cooked. Family gathered around a beautiful table for birthdays and Christmas as well as many other occasions. She loved to knit and crochet, and we have many of her creations to remember her by. We will never forget the importance of breakfast with JJ Cennon, and watching “The Young & the Restless” in the afternoon! Ultimately, we all share the memory of Red Rose tea and a chat at her kitchen table with her famous sugar cookies.
We will be forever grateful for her care at Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino, and we thank them for all they did for her.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Jean may be made to Jubilee Lodge, 401 Meyers Avenue, Kinistino, SK, S0J 1H0.
