Hi to Mervin's family.
I'm sorry to hear of Mervin's passing. He was a great man who always met me with a smile as I'm sure he did to everyone! Even when I was on the ice and likely half the rink might have been mad at me Haha I would tap on the glass where he was watching and I would get a smile back.
When I started hauling logs in Big River one day at Central Camp Merv was there with a broken spring on his trailer. He was working on the piece of wood with his axe so he could put it in place for support. That way he could make it to town, get unloaded and repair it. Soon after I met him heading back to the bush for another load! His repair had worked so well and was safe so he kept going till the weekend when there was more time to get it fixed properly. I'm sure you might have heard this story before. I thought to myself at the time " Now there's a trucker! "
