Morris Dickie

Obituary of Morris Dickie

Morris passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, with his family by his side. We said goodbye to Dad on this day, much too soon, but we know it is for the best.  Rest in peace Dad.

Dad grew up on a farm in the Samburg, SK, Kalyna district.  A farm that he would later call home with Mom.   Dad and Mom were married in 1964 and cattle and grain farmed on their homestead until 2004, when they sold the farm and retired to Prince Albert, SK.  With farming you must be a jack of all trades and Dad could fix anything, repair the machinery and be back out on the field.  When Dad would finish farming, he could be seen with his combine and machinery helping the neighbors. Dad served as a councillor for the R.M. of Garden River, from 1995 to 2004, where he made sure the grid roads were well maintained in his division. When Dad and Mom moved to Prince Albert, SK,  they enjoyed coffee row socializing with their friends and time with family.  Many holidays and family birthdays were spent with Dad and Mom.  Dad was always at the grill barbecuing something, we will especially remember and miss the prime rib roasts.

Morris is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife, Eileen; daughter, Irene (Peter) Parasuik; grandson, Sheldon (Laura) Parasuik and great‐grandson, Baker; grandson, Brandon Parasuik (Brooklyn Lucas) and great‐grandson, Ash; son, Ron (Wanda) Dickie; grandson, Christopher (Kelsey) Dickie and great‐ grandson, Bennett; grandson, Chase Harris and great‐grandchildren, Gracie, Cayde and Phoebe; grandson, Quinton Harris; grandson, Devon (Amy) Witkowski and great‐grandchildren, Hannah and Maverick; granddaughter, Meagan Witkowski (Tyler); and great-grandson, Jay; his sisters, Helen (George) Kosowan and Pauline (Maurice) Parent, as well as nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.  Morris was predeceased by his parents, John, and Mary Dickie; Eileen’s parents, Pete and Lena Pidborochynski; sister, Anne and brother‐in‐law, Steve Balicki; brothers, Alex and Steve Dickie.

At Dad’s request, no funeral will be held.  A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Tracy-Lynn Lenchuk, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322
