Larry Roy Bather
Larry was born in the Canwood area to Helen and Wynn Bather on July 15, 1954, 1 of 6 children. Larry was the 5th boy to bless the Bather crew, with baby sister Sandra to follow.
The Bather family lost their mother Helen in 1961, with their dad following in 1970.
There are many stories of how the boys navigated those difficult years without their parents. Much appreciation could be given to a few special ladies who helped guide the boys to calmer times.
Larry went on to make a family of his own in Canwood, 5 children who were all proud to call him dad, 3 grandchildren who called him grandpa, and many friends who enjoyed spending time with Larry.
He had had a variety of different jobs that had seen him through his working years, always making lifelong friends wherever he went.
Larry passed away in his home on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the age of 69 years. He leaves behind his children and their families: Terry Bather, Stephen Bather, Matthew (Nicole Rinas) Bather and daughter Sloane Bather, Kaitlyn (Ryan Demers) Bather, Hannah (Patrick Filion) Bather and children Dominick and Masen Filion; his brothers, Marvin (Diane) Bather, Edward Bather, Lloyd Bather, his sister Sandra Grumbo (Dale Balan); as well as countless friends who will miss his visits.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Helen & Wynn Bather; his brother Clarence Bather; his sister-in-law Shirley Bather and his special aunt and uncle Alice and Carl Pearson.
There will be a Graveside Service held for Larry in July of 2024 to be announced.
