I knew Millie through Millie’s Early Learning Centre and St. Martin’s United Church. Millie was a wonderful lady, always so gracious and kind. She was a hard person to say “No” to, often getting me involved to assist with her many projects. She was committed to anything she took on. I miss seeing her at church and having a quick chat most Sundays. Unfortunately, we are unable to attend her Celebration of Life due to prior commitments, but know we will be thinking of her and your family.

Good morning Dawn, My sincere condolences to your entire family. The news about Millie’s passing was a surprise to me and I’m sure you must still be feeling the loss. I trust that the many memories you have, indicated so clearly in the Star Phoenix obituary, will ease the pain. Indeed to many of us she will be known as the classmate and colleague who always took time to keep in touch, who always tackled the challenge of what was good for the College, in its various evolutions, and who always had the needs of students foremost. I have held off writing until my schedule became clearer. Unfortunately I will not be able to be in Saskatoon on June 23, 2024. Nonetheless, I will be there in spirit. Millie will never fade from our memories. Warm regards, Liz

When I read Millie's obituary and discovered that she grew up on a co-operative farm, I realized that her upbringing deeply affected how she lived her life. Millie was a remarkable woman who left a mark in our world. She was tireless in working on behalf of home economics, at the local, national, and international levels. Her promotion of the idea that student parents would do better in school if their children were well cared for in a child care centre resulted in the establishment of that centre in Nutana Collegiate. This was a huge achievement and in many ways ahead of its time. Likewise through her church Millie reached out to individuals and groups who could benefit from a friendly presence. Those of us who knew Millie knew that if there was a need, and if she could do anything about it, she was selfless in stepping up. Millie's life is indeed worth celebrating. Thank you to her family for sharing their mother so widely as she worked to make our world a better place.

Mrs. Reynolds was my favorite teacher of all time at Arborfield School, she knew just when you needed that extra help or some one on one time, Then while doing my practicum at Mount Royal School I got to teach one of her classes....I was so proud and made sure to tell those kids what a wonderful teacher they had (im sure they knew). Mrs. Reynolds was so proud of her children and always told me her son was the same name as me....she was the only one I ever let call me Trac. So sorry for your loss of this beautiful lady, she will be missed!

I taught with Millie at Nutana, I won’t echo all the wonderful things she accomplished that others will say. I’ll just say I was so humbled to see how Millie acted as a teacher, mentor and surrogate mother to so many kids that walked through her door.
As a teacher, I’ve always come to love those with a sense of humour…Millie I’ll miss your sparking eyes and open mouth laughter.
Godspeed.

I had the pleasure of being involved in several 'think tanks' led by Millie. She was the perfect leader for these gatherings, ensuring all were welcome to share their ideas and questions. No matter how mundane and/or quirky they may have appeared to others, she was masterful at paraphrasing and recrafting the comments to reflect positively on the topic at hand. A truly charming lady who will be missed by many! Our sincere condolences to each of you on her passing.
