Edward Bahnuick 

1944 - 2024

Ed was born in Hume Sask to George and Katherine Bahnuick in 1944, where he loved to play hockey and baseball. He moved to Saskatoon in 1959 to live with his sister Rose and her husband Bill Bruce. In 1960 at the age of 16 Ed started driving for Motorways Transport in Saskatoon where he met his wife Eleanor who was also working at Motorways at the time. On October 12 1963 they were Married in Canwood Sask and soon after moved to Lake Cowichan BC where they both worked at the Mill in Youbou for BCFP. On February 10, 1969, their first son Dean was born and on February 24, 1970, their second son Brent was born and their family was complete. In 1973 they moved back to Canwood and bought their family farm, where they raised pigs, cattle, chickens, and grain farmed. Ed drove a truck hauling Logs in the winters and in 1989 they started running the campsites at Hackett, Zig Zag Bay, and Ness Lake. In 2001 they moved into the town of Canwood where they retired in 2006. Ed spent his early retirement years spending the summers at their campsite at Hackett Lake and perfecting their garden(mostly the tomatoes) and fruit trees in the backyard. The winters they spent in Yuma, Arizona playing cards and golfing with friends. In his later retirement years, he still spent most summer weekends at their campsite at Hackett Lake, golfing and going to Coffee Row. In the winters he enjoyed going uptown for coffee and to play cards. He also spent many hours at the rink to watch the kids skate whether they were grandkids or not and really enjoyed his visits from the grandkids and great-grandkids.

Edward is lovingly survived by his wife, Eleanor Bahnuick (nee: Weberg); his children:

  Dean (Pamela) Bahnuick and their children,

      - Aaron (Kelsey) Bahnuick, and their children Jaxson, Kade, and Maci

             - Kirsten

       - Kohl

       - Avery

       - Darnelle's children, Xavier, Cecilia, and Kairi

  Brent Bahnuick and his children, 

       - Tyler (Miranda) Bahnuick and son Bodin

       - Teneille (Justin) Kerr and children Layken, Boston, Willa

       - Colton

       - Kiara

       - Hansyn

        - Hauk

His surviving sister, Rose Bruce. Edward was predeceased by his parents, Katherine & George Bahnuick; his granddaughter, Darnelle Bahnuick; his siblings, Tony Bahnuick, John Bahnuick, Fred Bahnuick, William Bahnuick, Nelly Babairz; his brother-in-law, Bill Bruce.

There will be a private family service held for Edward at a later date.
