Obituary of Jacob Johan Krahn

Jacob Krahn

March 18, 1930 – September 8, 2024

Jake Krahn passed away on September 8, 2024, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 94. 

Jake spent the majority of his life in the Rabbit Lake area farming and raising his family. He loved visiting with neighbors and socializing with friends over a coffee at the local coffee shop.  He would still want to be farming if his body didn’t start failing him as he aged. They also liked travelling, usually left ground hog day and returned by the end of March, their special destination was Yuma.  2017 Jake and Cecelia moved into Rose Gil Lodge in Rabbit Lake, July 2019 Jake moved into Spiritwood Long term care as his declining health caused him to need more care.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Cecelia Krahn, his loving children

• Penny Krahn and Elaina, Saskatoon, Sk.;  Shellina (Brad) Nowakowski, Prince Albert, Sk.; Bradley (Suhani) Krahn and Evelyn, Saskatoon, Sk.; Chad (Erin) Kuffert and Sophie, Vincent , Violet, Saskatoon, Sk.; Candice (Tom) Lukaszewicz and Amy, Dominik, Calgary, Alta.

Sister - Elsie Goode, Langley, BC.  Her children, Peter (Toni) Goode, Brenda (John) Rennie, as well as great nephews and nieces.

Jake was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Anna Krahn, a very special Cousin Hilda Epp, his brother-in-law’s Bob Goode, Lionel Hannestad, Donald Hannestad, sister-in-law’s Ellen Hannestad, Lydia Hannestad.

The family would like to thank Spiritwood Long Term Care home and Rose Gill Lodge for caring for Dad over the last seven years.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in memory of Jake can be made to Rose Gill Lodge, Rabbit Lake., SK or to Idylwild Lodge Auxiliary Inc., Spiritwood, SK.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday October 4, 2024 - 3:00pm at the Pioneer Centre, Spiritwood, SK with Rev. Don Unger officiating.
