Family was very important to Valerie, and she hosted many English Christmas and Ukrainian Christmas celebrations. She and Stan attended every family gathering, wedding, funeral, and any activity involving their nephews and nieces. They also supported the activities of many friend’s and neighbor’s children.  In their retirement, Valerie and Stan travelled to Arizona in the winters so that they could golf every day. Valerie enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, and card-making.  She knit 800 toques for donation to the hospital and Salvation Army.  She always had a hand-made card to acknowledge important events.

In keeping with her wishes, Valerie spent her last days at the Rose Garden Hospice.
