Obituary of Peggy Senum

SENUM- Mrs. Margaret 'Peggy' Senum, age 97, late of Edmonton and formerly of Shellbrook, passed away in an Edmonton Care Home on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Peggy was born in Hamiota, Manitoba to Thomas and Isabella Kerr on May 2, 1913 with a brother, Dave and sister, Catherine. The family moved to Speers in 1919. She attended school in Speers and North Battleford Collegiate, and earned an Education degree in Saskatoon. Her teaching in Shellbrook ended more than 30 years in the field. Peggy met and married Louis Senum in 1942, and had two children, Lynne Wayne) Simpson and David Senum. There are seven grandchildren, Dean (Shelley) Simpson, Norah (Brett) Bowers, Carolyn (Darren) Reich, Richelle (Rich) du Cloux, Scott Simpson, Laurel (Byron) Tumbach, Darren (Tammy) Senum. There are eighteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1988, her parents, Thomas and Isabella, her brother Dave, and her sister, Catherine. The Celebration of Life was held at Knox United Church in Shellbrook on Monday, January 31 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dave Whalley as officiant. Memorial donations may be made to Knox United Church, or to the choice of the donor. Interment will be held at a later date.
