Obituary of Laurette Marie Lehouillier

Lehouillier: Laurette Lehouillier passed away March 31, 2011 at the age of 90 years old at Whispering Pine Place in Canwood, Saskatchewan, with her family at her bedside. She was born Oct. 9, 1920 in Marcelin, Saskatchewan to Hector and Marie Lajeunesse. Laurette married Germain Lehouillier Oct. 28, 1940 in Laventure and moved to Mattes in 1946. They farmed there till 1974, at which time they then moved to Prince Albert. Laurette, because of her love for children, started babysitting for various families. Many of these families kept in touch with her long after she had stopped babysitting. She also worked for many years at the Coca Cola Plant. Laurette enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, playing cards and dice, and all kinds of crafts. But her biggest joy was having her family around. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter were all very special to her and she loved to cook wonderful meals for her family. She was a wonderful special person, the greatest mom, the best Memere, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a wonderful friend, aunt, and a true angel among us. She will be greatly missed. This is not goodbye as you will be forever in our hearts. Until we meet again. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Raymond (Phyllis) Lehouillier of Victoire, Sk., Robert Lehouillier of Prince George, BC, Yolande(Dale) Busse of Neidpath, Sk., Louise (Ken) Nein of Hinton AB, Maurice Lehouillier of Victoire, Sk., Paul (Murielle) Lehouillier of Calgary AB, Rita (Bruce) Sayers of Paynton, Sk. her 25 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Her extended family Yvonne and Lucien Bisson. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Germain and an infant daughter, Alice. Her daughter in law Doreen and her parents, Hector and Marie Lajeunesse and her brothers, Art, Lucien, Eugene, Josephat, Henri, and her sisters, Cecil, Cecilia, Juliette, Jeanne and Leah. The prayer service was held Monday, April 4, 2011 at 7:30 at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in Debden. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 1:00 also at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, with Father Millan Sajonas Celebrant. Memorial donations may be made in Laurette's memory to Debden Personal Care Home or Whispering Pine Place Canwood. Laurette was laid to rest in the Debden Cemetery.
