Obituary of John Jezowski
John passed away on April,28,2011. Born in Candiac, Sk.,on March 2, 1927, John was the second of Boleslaf (Bill) and Katrina Jezowski's ten children. When John started school in Elmwood he could not speak English. In 1944, during the family's move to Fertile SK, John looked after the cattle that were being shipped by rail. The 3-day trip took him through Brandon MB, before arriving in Fertile. While helping on the farm swathing, he came home pant less, he was lucky it was only his pants that got tangled up in the P.T.O. John, when joining the work force started in the mechanical and repair trade in Tilston MB. This is where he met the love of his life Emilia, they married in 1951. He started his own blacksmith and welding repair shop in Nottingham SK. His work took him to a JD Dealer in Antler SK; he then started a case dealership where he was joined by his younger brother. It was during this time that John and Emilia started their family. In 1968, John lost his business to a fire, he went to work for the Cockshut Dealer in Antler, the Pierlots Dealer in Redvers, and finally followed his love of the north and fishing and moved to Big River. There he worked for the Dept of Northern Saskatchewan, and worked for Alex Shukin as a fishing guide at Dore Lake. He continued guiding after his retirement with the Town of Big River. Besides his work achievements, John was active in Boy Scouts with the Catholic Church in Belgarde, was an inspiring mechanic, an accomplished wood worker, he was the Exalted Ruler for the Big River Elks and the District Deputy. John had many hobbies, loved fishing, hunting, curling, golfing, playing musical instruments, ski-doing, and many a weekend night 500 rummy was played well into the early hours. To John family was very special and important; he loved getting together with his children, relatives and friends. His children meant everything to him and he was very proud of all his family's accomplishments. He was a very proud father and grandfather. John leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 60 years Emilia, his children, Ron & Sheila, Wayne & Betty, Linda & Glen Campbell, Richard & Leslie, David, Randy & Val, and Dwight & Abbey, 20 grand children and 14 great grand children. His brothers & sisters: Carl Jezowski, Frank & Claudette Jezowski, Victor & Jean Jezowski, Russel Jezowski, Jullian Jezowski, Sophie & Bob Code, Mary & Reid Moir, Bernice Hillis, his sisters in law; Eileen Jezowski and Peggy Jezowski, numerous nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by: son Kenneth; his parents: Bill & Katrina Jezowski; his brothers Tony & Steve Jezowski; a sister in law Rose Jezowski and a brother in law Jack Hillis. The Funeral Service was held May 3rd, 2011 at the Big River Community Hall, in Big River. Email condolences sent to www.beaulacfuneralhome.com will be forwarded to the family.
