It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Bruno announce his passing on August 13th, 2011. Bruno was born to Bruno Sr. and Irene Belanger on April 16th, 1936. Born and raised on the family homestead in Spiritwood with his 2 sisters, Olivette and Theresa, and one brother Paul. When Bruno was young he found work in Alberta and B.C. He enjoyed sharing stories of his experiences during these times. Bruno eventually found his way back home to Spiritwood. In 1964 Bruno met Kathleen Pearson. They were married, October 9, 1965 and began their life together in Spiritwood. Their journey together continued for 45 years. By 1975 they had a family of three daughters, Beverly, Marlene and Shirley. Bruno had various jobs throughout the years doing such things as truck driver, cat operator and mechanic. He eventually returned to work on the family farm. In his retirement years, Bruno enjoyed "puttering" on the farm. He truly enjoyed growing huge gardens and tending to the few animals he had. Bruno was a private man; he enjoyed spending time with his family and a few close friends. As years went by Bruno was blessed with three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The joy of his family gave him a great sense of pride. Bruno was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather. He was a good friend to those who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts. Dad, words cannot express the sorrow we are feeling, you are greatly missed but will never be forgotten. Bruno will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathleen, his daughters; Beverly (Bev) Brettle of Spiritwood, and their children: Damon Belanger and his daughter Jenissa, Melissa Belanger and her son Brodyn and Charlene Brettle; Marlene (Ed) Rumak of The Pas MB; and Shirley Belanger of Spiritwood.
