Obituary of Yvette Nicholas

Yvette was born March 29, 1922 in Picardville, Alberta one of seven, to Nap and Alice Breault. She spoke of growing up in the 20's and 30's and the hardship they all endured, the heavy work load, and that all the children pitched in to help. One memory was of her brothers getting into their fathers dynamite and blowing the barn up and wondering how they were going to explain that one! After leaving home she worked as a waitress, she met Norman and would giggle about how they met. He came into the Restaurant and worked up the courage to ask if he could drive her home, then with a great escape, she went out the back door, leaving him sitting there for hours. He did finally capture her heart and they were married in July of 1969. She worked as a Telephone Operator for Alberta until retiring in Peace River Alberta, then her and Norman moved to Saskatchewan. She took very good care of Norman, ensuring healthy meals and TLC. She would step up to a good argument now and then just to keep his mind sharp! Some would say they enjoyed her feisty opinions, as she would defend injustice and had a strong belief in fairness for all and wasn't afraid to say it. Yvette had a love for gardening and flowers and a little extra love for the animals that shared her life. She often found amusement in the world around her and shared many giggles, enjoyed lunches with family and friends, and her Church family as she loved to visit, and company was always welcome. Her love of children and family was apparent; she always had time, a couple of peanut butter cookies and a cup of tea or coffee ready. She would thank you for coming and with her signature reply; "Bye for Now" Yvette was a very determined little lady, rarely when she made up her mind that whatever project she took on wasn't followed through. From Building a shed on the farm to putting on a wonderful Turkey supper at the age of 87, she succeeded. She valued a strong faith, an honest day's work, the beauty of our world and the love and kindness of family and friends. Always very grateful to whatever you would do for her and thankful for the blessings in her life. She touched the lives of all who knew her and we will miss her presence in ours. We have comfort in knowing she is with Norman as she missed "the big Guy" so much. Until we meet again Yvette, " Bye for Now" Mass of Christian Burial for Yvette was held Wednesday, October 19th, 2011, 1:00 pm from St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church in Medstead, Saskatchewan with Rev. Father Dong as Celebrant. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her brother: Al (Elaine) Breault of Edmonton, AB, her sisters: Eva Latson of Edmonton, AB, Ermine Archambault of Montreal, PQ, her brother-in-law: William "Woody" (Gloria) Cherwoniak, her sisters-in-law: Marlene Cherwoniak, Helen Cherwoniak, Beryl Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by: Her husband, Norman in 2003 Her brothers: Eugene, Ulderic, Lucien and Gabriel Her parents: Napoleon and Alice Breault Email condolences to will be forwarded to the family.
