Obituary of Mildred Gunderson
Gunderson, Mildred - It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred Gunderson announces her passing on April 6, 2006 at the age of 83. She was born the seventh child of thirteen to Tina and Frank Anderson. She married Roy Gunderson on January 31, 1946 in Prince Albert, SK. They raised eleven children and eventually the family expanded to ninety. Mildred always had time for each and every one of her children and grand children and enjoyed visiting and keeping up with the latest news of her family. Family gatherings were especially important to Mildred. In her free time she would knit, crochet and play cards. After Roy passed away, Mildred was very lonely. She decided she needed a companion and purchased Sandy. Sandy became a very notable part of her life and remained at her side until Mildred moved into the Lodge. Mildred made Lakewood Lodge her home and really enjoyed her stay there as well as the wonderful care she received. She will be missed, never forgotten and always loved by her family. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory her children Earl & Cec of Big River, SK, Grace & Bud Forbes of Big River, SK, Gordon & Sherry of Big River, SK, Doug & Debbie of Big River, SK, Geraldine & Stan Millikin of Big River, SK, Bernard & MaryEllen of Big River, SK, Norman & Jenny of Meadow Lake, SK, a daughter in law Leslie Gunderson of Prince Albert, SK, Brenda & Kenny McKay of Meadow Lake, SK, Judy & Marlow Pister of Big River, SK and Bev Lindskog & Kevin Huard of Big River, SK; 27 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild; her brothers & sisters Albert, Jessie (Art), Vivian (Clarence), Dennis & Myrtle; a brother in law Hercule LaPlante as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Roy Gunderson in 1992, her parents Frank & Tina Anderson; a son Dwayne Gunderson in 2004 and an infant daughter Darlene in 1955.
