Obituary of Lorne Thomas Salisbury
Grateful for the good memories, the family saddly announces the passing of Lorne Salisbury on July 18, 2012. The funeral Service was held at the Rabbit Lake Hall on Monday,July 23, 2012 at 2:00pm. Interment followed the service and took place in the Mullingar Cemetery. Lorne Thomas Salisbury was born September 11, 1927 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was the second oldest of 11 children. Lorne grew up working hard on the family farm near North Battleford and then near Mullingar where the family later moved. As a teenager and young man, Lorne spent his winters working in logging camps in Manitoba and Alberta. His summers were spent doing what he loved...farming. In 1954, he built a house and became a fulltime established farmer. Lorne was a quiet man, but with a sharp mind and a witty sense of humor. He loved his land, his livestock and his dog. He also had a great time playing and joking with the kids and visiting with his friends and relatives. Lorne will be missed greatly by everyone. Lorne's memories will be forever cherished by his brothers; George, Harvey, James(Violet), Gary(Louise), and David(Sally). Lorne also leaves to cherish his memories his brothers in law Larry Price and Bob Kobelski as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Lorne was predeceased by his parents; Thomas & Clara, his sisters; Shirley(Fred Felton), Nina Price, Lorraine Kobelski and brothers; Ralph and Earl. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Email condolences will be forwarded to the family.
