Obituary of Flora Johnson
Flora Johnson was born in Shellbrook, Sask. on Sept. 2, 1924. She passed away on June 21, 2006 in Sherwood Park, Alta. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Susan and Richard Wuorinen (Grande Cache, Alta.), son Richard Johnson (Dore Lake, Sask.), sister Margaret Wetzel (Shellbrook, Sask.), brothers James (Cora) McAteer (Brampton, Ont.), Ed McAteer (Lake Cowichan, B.C.), brother and sister-in-law Ted and Carol Johnson (Dore Lake, Sask.) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Johnson in 1995, her parents Alexander and Minnie McAteer, brothers Robert, William, August and John McAteer, sisters Agnes Dummond, Doris Stephenson, Ethel Schmitz, Ellen Funston and Jessie Barkway. Peggy and Carl spent most of their lives operating a mink ranch at Dore Lake. Peggy loved her family, flowers, pets and friends. She moved to Alberta and the Sherwood Park Care Center in her late 70's. The funeral service was held at Dore Lake June 29, 2006 with Pastor Neil Unruh officiating. Beau "Lac" Funeral Home of Big River was entrusted with arrangements. Flora was laid to rest in the Dore Lake Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Sherwood Park Care Center or the charity of one's choice.
