Obituary of Pat Price

Price, Pat - It is with deep sadness that the family of Pat Price announces her passing on June 27, 2006 at the age of 66. Pat was born March 7, 1940 in Dinorwik, ON to Terry and Dorothy Cronley. As a child she enjoyed skating on the pond and playing with her friends. When she was eight years old her family moved to Ignace, ON. It was here she attended school until grade eleven and then decided to join the workforce. This is where she met the love of her life, Del Price. Within a couple of years they were married. The new couple immediately moved to Red Lake. In 1958, Betty-Ann was born. Then they were on the move again to Nipawin SK and a year later in 1959 they welcomed Lee into the family. The young family was then on the move again to Dryden, Ontario where bubba Joe was born in 1964. In 1970 the small town of Big River was blessed with the presence of the Price family. This was a place they could finally call their home. Grandma immediately started working at the nursery where she stayed for twenty years and made numerous friends. Grandma loved the outdoors, she would find any excuse to go out and work in her garden or her flowerbeds. She was also an avid bird watcher. During the winter, Grandma spent every other evening at the arena where she enjoyed watching her grandson's and great grandson's play hockey and her granddaughter's figure skating. Grandma always found time to teach us the importance of religion by taking us to church whenever she could. The most important thing in grandma's life was her family, she was the glue that held our family together. We would like to thank the staff at the Big River Health Center and the home care nurses who came to the house. Everyone who sent cards, food, and thoughts; we greatly appreciate it. Pat will be remembered and sadly missed by a daughter Betty-Ann (Richard) Demers of Debden, SK & their children Ryan (Ashley), Devin and Jenna; her two sons Lee (Laurel) Price of Big River, SK and their children Shawn (Stacey) Price of Big River, SK & their children Halli, Emery, and Ashley (Howard) Forbes and their children Keegan, Lane & Cassidy; Joe (LuAnne) Price of Big River, SK & their children Charidee, Airik and Hillary; her brothers Bill (Rose) Cronley of Dryden, ON and Edward Cronley of Ignace, ON; her sisters Marge (Gran) Price of Dryden, ON, Teresa (Darcy) Roberts of Ignace, ON and Brenda (Ian) Hayes of Kamloops, BC as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Del Price in 1999; her parents Terry and Dorthy Cronley and an infant daughter, Sharon. The funeral service was held on Friday, June 30th, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. from the First United Church in Big River with Reverend Ken Easterbrook as the officiant. The Big River Community Choir sang the hymns Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace and Church In The Wildwood accompanied by organist Julie Price. The eulogy was read by Ashley Forbes, Charidee Price and Jenna Demers. The honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren who had a special place in her heart and the urn bearer was her grandson, Ryan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Pat was laid to rest in the Big River Cemetery. Beau "Lac" Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
