Obituary of Aadne Aarrestad
AADNE AARRESTAD
Aadne Aarrestad was born in Voll, Norway April 14, 1924. At age 5 he moved with his family to Canada. He attended school at Weldon, SK and Lake Four and then was needed to help out at home. As a young adult he worked a variety of jobs including commercial fishing and with a threshing crew. In 1953 he married Gladys Amundson and together they raised five children while running the dairy and beef cattle farm. He lived in the Park Valley district most of his life and loved farm living. He had a strong faith in God and his life was an example of his faith. He ministered faithfully as a deacon and as a long time elder of the Park Valley Local Church. He loved music and enjoyed singing, playing guitar and piano. He went with others to sing at senior homes for many years, and he sang and played guitar right up to the day he passed away. He ministered to the needs of his family, church and community. For many years he was on the school board and credit union board.
Aadne and Gladys moved into the Debden Heritage Manor in November 2013. After Gladys passed away April 29, 2015 at the age of 85, Aadne remained at the Debden manor until going into Shellbrook hospital March 28th.
