Although very late, I just heard of Bruce’s passing. He was my best friend in public school, and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Always knew he would be a great teacher.
Although we lost touch over the years, I’ve never forgotten our shared times.

He was our longest serving Justice of the Peace, having faithfully carried out his JP duties for 44 years. Bruce was an extremely dedicated and kind individual who had a wonderful ability to put people at ease. He was a pleasure to work with and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I met Bruce when he was my sister's co-operating teacher during her internship, at that moment I did not know the impact he would truly have in my life from that moment on. He has touched my life like so many other lives in such a positive way that it makes me strive everyday to be more like Bruce when dealing with anyone I come into contact with.
Bruce was a beautiful soul, whose dealings with people set him apart - in a profoundly good way! He will forever be remembered for all the lessons he has taught to me and the advice he's shared over the years.
There are not words strong enough to express my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Bruce!
Matthew 5:4, Revelations 21:3&4, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
I realize there maybe better scriptures than these but please take comfort in them.

I remember Bruce from the days he taught at Vickers school and I believe he was vice-principal asd well. He was always a caring man. He stood behind his beliefs and knew what he believed in. Later on I would see him here or there- he always had a smile on his face and was willing spend a few minutes chatting. Our community is a better place because of his ability to inspire others. Many a student and their parents were impacted for good.He will be missed. With prayer and sympathy: MaryAnne Carter

I am so sorry to hear Bruce has passed away. What a beautiful, incredible mentor he was to me! As I completed my requirements to convocate with my Bachelor of Education degree, I was placed with Bruce. He welcomed me like I was an old friend, he challenged me to be open minded and take risks in my teaching and he was a God-send and a blessing to me during the four months we were together. He became ill for a time and was away for part of a month. Upon his return, his eyes sparkled with delight as the children welcomed him back and he continued to guide me on my journey. I always felt like I had the greatest teacher a student teacher could ever desire when I was placed with him in his classroom. I am just so thankful I was able to know him, even for a little while. He has continued to guide and influence me fifteen years after I left his classroom. I will always think of him with affection as he is one of my greatest mentors. I wish you, his family, love and peace during this sad time. May your memories serve as a comfort to you during this very difficult time.
