I am so sorry to hear Bruce has passed away. What a beautiful, incredible mentor he was to me! As I completed my requirements to convocate with my Bachelor of Education degree, I was placed with Bruce. He welcomed me like I was an old friend, he challenged me to be open minded and take risks in my teaching and he was a God-send and a blessing to me during the four months we were together. He became ill for a time and was away for part of a month. Upon his return, his eyes sparkled with delight as the children welcomed him back and he continued to guide me on my journey. I always felt like I had the greatest teacher a student teacher could ever desire when I was placed with him in his classroom. I am just so thankful I was able to know him, even for a little while. He has continued to guide and influence me fifteen years after I left his classroom. I will always think of him with affection as he is one of my greatest mentors. I wish you, his family, love and peace during this sad time. May your memories serve as a comfort to you during this very difficult time.
