Obituary of Bruce C. Goertzen

Bruce Coral Goertzen 1948 – 2016 Bruce went home to be with the Lord early on the morning of September 10, 2016. He was born in Hudson Bay, SK on June 8, 1948 and grew up in Regina, SK. Bruce taught school for 30 years; briefly in Wollaston Lake, Cumberland House, Wood Mountain and finally in Prince Albert. He was very proud of his 25 years of service in the militia having achieved the rank of major. Bruce was very active in his church; teaching Sunday School and Bible studies, serving as church treasurer for many years and dedicating himself to Seniors Ministry at various Prince Albert nursing and care homes. Additionally he served for a number of years as a coroner and marriage commissioner. For 44 years he was a Justice of the Peace, a position he really enjoyed. Bruce was a kind man, respectful and polite to all he met. His motto in life was “always be a little kinder than necessary”. In his dealings, he strove to be true to his Lord and Savior Jesus. He was forever grateful for nine bonus years of life due to the kindness of the gift of a double lung transplant in 2007. Bruce is survived by his wife Gladys, children Michael (Gwen), Jon and Jennifer (Duncan), as well as four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We will miss you Big Guy.
