I am So Sorry that I couldn't be there for you and the Boys Sis.
Many years ago I affectionately nicknamed Lawrence "BILL JOE BOB" and have so many fond memories of our time spent together. The one memory that stick out is, One time we were riding pasture in the Coop and we treated a few cows with Hoof rot and just about dusk we figured we had better be getting back home, but just then we came across a small herd and in that herd was a Hereford Bull with a really bad case of Hoof Rot, so we stopped to treat him, The bull was really quiet so we dismounted and dropped a loop over his head and tied him to a tree and gave him a shot of penicillin. We untied the bull and Billy Joe mounted up and I was standing beside my horse when a Big ole steer that belonged to Leonard Letkeman came walking past me and I noted that he had a really bad case of Hoof Rot, so I said "Billy should we treat this guy too? and Billy said I got one more Shot left, let's do it." so I shook out a loop and snapped it over that steers head, and he bolted forward and pulled the entire length of my lariat through my bare hands - pulled me off my feet and dragged me through a small creek, when I came up on the other side of the creek, I finally let go of the Lariat and I looked up and there was Billy Joe Howling with laughter and hangin on to the saddle horn with both hands to keep from falling off his horse and he finally said between Gales of laughter " WHY DIDN'T YOU LET GO?"
I loved you like a Brother BILLY JOE BOB, and I will miss you. Hope that you are up in that Big Roping Arena in the sky workin on winning that Fancy Saddle.
