What a warm, kind heart she had! She belonged to the same Friendship Bible Study group as I several times and her love for Jesus was always evident. Our hearts go out to you all.
My wife Dawn and myself really got to know Joanne and Lawrence when they were in Hay River. They took us in like we were one of their own children. Through them we learned what it meant to be a Christian family. We had never seen what a family looked like whereby Jesus was the Center of everything. God bless you all.

Joann and I trained together at the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert in the late 50's. Joann was such a dear friend and mentor to me -- a couple years older, and so much wiser! I feel indebtedness. Her body is gone, but the person Joann will stay very much alive in our memories.

We are praying for you & your family during this bittersweet time. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. We spend our lives hurrying here and hurrying there but when the end comes, we don’t want our loved ones to leave. We want time to stop so we can linger in their presence. We are all just moments in time. Life is fragile and it is brief. A 1000 years is but a day to our Lord. Lawrence, you and Joanna’s love for each other speaks volumes to a lost world. A beautiful example of how Jesus loves each one of us. She was a Mighty Woman of God and a Prayer Warrior. We will cherish the fond memories of being welcomed into your home and treated like family for 7 years while bird hunting in Canada. She will be greatly missed. Praying for a peace that surpasses all understanding for you and your family in the days ahead.
